PANGKOR THE PARADISE ISLAND
Surrounding Island
At the beach of Teluk Nipah, you can take a short boat ride to Pulau Giam and Pulau Mentagor. You can also rent kayaks for a paddle out to these islands.
Pulau Mentagor
Pulau Mentagor is an oval shape island and situated on the western bank of Pangkor separated by a 180-meter waterway. Its azure water here are habitation for sea cucumber and a rich variety of marine life.
Pulau Giam
Pulau Giam is a paradise for snorkeling enthusiasts as there is a myriad of colourful underwater life in perfect harmony with beautiful coral formation under the sea.
Pangkor Laut Island
One of the islands near to Pulau Pangkor is Pangkor Laut. The exclusive island of Pangkor Laut is a resort unto itself. Pulau Sembilan
A two-hour boat ride from Pulau Pangkor is Pulau Sembilan, a group of nine islands. It is angler’s paradise and perfect spot for fishing enthusiasts. It is also a spot for Pulau Sembilan Fishing Safari which is held annually since 1986 by the Perak Fisheries Department as a tourism event.
Fishing Village
Although Pangkor Island is renowned as a tourist destination, fishing and trading of fish products remained as major industries of people in Pangkor Island.
Fishing villages such as Sungai Pinang Kecil, Sungai Pinang Besar and Teluk Gedung are situated on the eastern coast of Pangkor Island. Tourists will get the chance to see some of the fishing villages during the 40-minute ferry ride from Lumut. They can get a clearer view of the fishing villages once the ferry stops at the main settlement of Sungai Pinang Kecil before harbouring at Pangkor town.
