Ipoh White Coffee – From Bean To Brew

Coffee has gone through a variety of incarnations as a beverage, as various as the names, blends and concoctions its available in. You can have your coffee in its old reliable form in the morning, and as the day progresses, perhaps try its progressive and awakening styles.

Perhaps Ipoh White Coffee is more your style, or the ubiquitous local coffee shop brew with condensed milk swirled to the bottom in a sticky caramel end. “White Coffee” is frequently associated with Ipoh because it originated from the Old Town in Ipoh. Ipoh White Coffee is a roast of coffee prepared using a unique method, combining elements of modern approaches with traditional Malaysian brewing practices. The term “white coffee” originates from the literal translation of its Chinese name.

Traditionally, the Malaysia style “black” coffee roast, otherwise known as Hainanese coffee is produced by roasting the beans with sugar and margarine. “White” coffee, on the other hand is produced with margarine only; without any sugar – resulting in a roast that is less dark, producing a variety called “white” coffee. The type of coffee normally used in this roast is the Robusta.

Coffee drinking has made comeback, and everyone’s doing it baby - from business consultants to entrepreneurs to homemakers to financial planners, we’re all brewing and taking a cuppa. Maybe it came about with frenetic pace of modern living. We’ve got a thousand things that need to be done NOW. The day is no longer 9-5, but 8 in the morning till late at night. Career women are gym going moms, university students are vegetarian hikers, hackers hold corporate jobs in the day, teach community classes in the evenings, take over the world at night. Everyone’s diversifying, and we all needed something to keep our heads up. It was a need just waiting for a niche market.
